Properly
Parking Your Motorcycle While Riding in a Group
Parking your motorcycle in
an orderly and uniform manner can mean the difference
in us appearing to the public to be a well organized
group or a bunch of sloppy bikers that could care less
what they look like.
We are constantly in the
eye of the public and it takes our constant attention
to maintain our image. Just one misguided decision by
one rider can cost us months or years of
building rapport with some of the people in the
non-motorcycle community. The same is true with the
public who observe us as we venture down the highway.
We live in a glass house and we must constantly strive
to improve our image in the public's eye when at all
possible. Parking properly not only makes us look like
we know what we are doing but also impresses members
of other motorcycle groups as well.
When approaching a parking
lot where the group will be stopping, the Road Captain
will look the lot over for enough parking spaces
together to accommodate our group. Observe your Road
Captain and start a row of bikes parked side by side
in a uniform manner. If your Road Captain pulls up and
backs his bike into a parking space, you should follow
suite and park the same. Each parking space can hold
two to four motorcycles when parked side by side. Park
your bike wheel to wheel with the bike next to you and
do not leave any unused spaces between bikes.
