Membership Process into the ALR
The membership process is simple and straight
forward. The ALR as stated earlier is not a motorcycle club
(M/C) and as such we DO NOT do "hanging around" periods, probating
periods or patching-in ceremonies. The items below detail
the steps that are followed for membership in the American Legion
Riders of Post 133 in Millbrook Alabama.
- Submit to the Sgt-At-Arms all of the above
documentation.
- Sgt-At-Arms will bring the application
before the ALR at a regular stated meeting if everything is in
order.
- Sgt-At-Arms will submit the paper work to
the Secretary.
- A vote will be taken as whether to accept
the application. Simple majority is all that is needed.
- Secretary will notify the applicant of
acceptance. The Director will notify the applicant of a
rejection.

Note on Membership
In keeping
with the tradition of NOT being an M/C, once you are accepted you
are responsible for acquiring your own riding vest, back patch and
other patches as required by ALR 133. With us, it is called a
riding vest, we don't ever use the terms "Colors", "Cut" or "Rag"
in referring to the riding vest. We do not award the ALR Patches
or riding vest and once you purchase them, they are your property,
not the ALR's. If for any reason you resign from membership or
let your membership expire the riding vest and all patches remain
yours. We do ask however, that out of courtesy and respect that
you not wear them until you are once again an ALR member either at
Post 133 or another post.
