Dominant Clubs.

Purpose of Dominant Clubs and Why they control who wears patches.

Not all approve or like the fact dominant clubs exist and control who wears patches and controls the conduct of clubs or motorcycle groups in the area. What you may find out is that they are very much needed and have good reason to exist. Like it or not you have bad people in every aspect of life and you will have some in the motorcycle community that will form groups, clubs, gangs or whatever you may want to label them. Some of these groups will often cause problems for all bikers who have chose this as a life style which will also cause problems for anybody that rides a bike. Weather you are a weekend rider, mom and pop passing thru or a person who lives the life you are affected by the trouble makers who ride bikes.

If you have not seen it, there is a good chance you may see it, that you get a bunch of so called bad asses put a patch on there back and go to local hang outs starting trouble with anybody they come across and in return we all pay the price. Not only does it set a bad example of all who ride a bike and as you know bikers do not have the best reputation in the world, but it causes unwanted attention from local law enforcement. The problem for law enforcement is they cannot go after a group for what they think they may do but only for what they have done, so that is the purpose of the dominate groups is to head off potential problems before they happen and often deal with problems without involving law enforcement.

The arrangement works and like it or not it will not change anytime in the near future. The arrangement works for all bikers, the mom and pop, or rider with no club or group should be able to ride through an area without harassment from any group or law enforcement because the control by the dominate clubs.

These dominate groups are typically the groups that have faced the brunt of the negative aspects of the reality that bikers are not the most favored group.  There life is the biker lifestyle and not a weekend rider or rub and they have paid the price over the years for the life they have chose to live.

These dominate clubs often have to answer to Law Enforcement when a club in the area gets out of line. For example say a club gives some local people a hard time, even to point charges may be pressed. Well John Doe off the street does not care what patch this guy is wearing to him they all the same, a biker with a patch. You can wear a motorcycle ministry patch, a store bought Harley Davidson patch and he couldn't tell the difference. Well often the local Law Enforcement is going to go to the dominate club expecting answers. It is far to often the dominate club is expected to police up all the groups in the area is it should be that they have a vested interest who is in the area and be aware of the trouble makers.

There is a lot of wanna be's out there who wish to emulate this lifestyle but have not paid the price that this whole subculture that most the dominate groups are part of has paid and continues to pay so that you and I can ride our bikes without a lot of crap.

Don't get me wrong, they are some bad dudes out there but they don't normally advertise, but even the meanness guy on the block will meet his match one day.

To sum it up is that the dominate groups are there for a reason and like it or not you will not change that fact. Be happy that they are not there to cause you problems but to make it better for all of us in the biker community. Does not matter if your live in the area, passing through, mom and pop, weekend rider or rub they are what makes it easier for you to ride with very little hassles. But if you cause a problem be ready to face the music of the dominate groups.

I would also suggest you read up on protocol basics and difference between RC and MC.
